Luigi Romano and his beautiful wife Vanda of many years own and run a fabulous new pizza/restaurant that also specializes in delectable catering. Luigi knows what to do because he's been running restaurants from Maryland, New Jersey to Pennsylvania for years.
Luigi moved from Italy to Pennsylvania at age 12 and opened his first pizza place in Doylestown when he was only 16 years old.
"This is what I know how to do, this is what I love to do and I think it shows." Luigi says simply: "I love to cook for people."
Luigi has serious restaurant experience. He has owned many high-end pizza/pasta shops and fine dining Italian eateries in Maryland, New Jersey and Philadelphia. There have been so many restaurants and dining facilities that he has a hard time recalling just how many he's built-up and succeeded in.
Luigi and Vanda along with three kids in tow have moved back to Horsham a few months back to settle in and build another top tier pizza restaurant in what was formerly known as Giuliano's Brick Oven Pizza and Trattoria at 537 Easton Road in Horsham with the business name: Pizza Mista.
Pizza Mista, Luigi says, means "variety" with a full Italian menu along with a brick oven and regular oven, Luigi says that gives him a huge edge. The difference between the two ovens and the pizza he creates is like "night and day."
Luigi says the wood fired oven adds a special character to the flavor and the higher temperature makes for a super crispy crust that you will crave. He says that their signature Margherita pizza smothered in Mozzarella cheese and "just right" sauce comes out best in a wood fired brick oven, it's unmistakable and seriously delicious, "I grew up on that Pizza", Luigi proudly says.
Luigi and his family do miss their friends and relatives now that they live just across the street from the restaurant on Easton Rd in Horsham. Luigi says the economy is right for quality Pizza and other top notch Italian favorites; at a great price. Their menu features Pizza, Gourmet Pizza, Sandwiches, Wraps, Burgers, homemade soups, Panini's along with pasta and salad offerings.
"After so many years it's a lot of work," he said of the fancier fare. "This is just simple and fun and the food proves that point."
Besides Luigi and his wife Vanda, Pizza Mista employs four other workers. Luigi plans to double his work force soon. Always planning ahead, Luigi is setting up the upcoming opening of Pasta Mista in Chalfont, a sister restaurant built on the same food quality and simple business model.
"I'm not moving from here," Luigi says. "This is our home, this is our base."
Pizza Mista, the areas' best 67-seat pizza restaurant welcomes you to meet their family and enjoy the best food around, prepared carefully with experienced hands, and it shows. Luigi and his family look forward to serving you and your family!
"We've always been family oriented," Vanda says. "That's what it's about, family, food, fun, laughter."
Pizza Mista also features Imported Gelato, an Italian style ice cream that he imports from Bindi, Italy.
"You've got to have passion for this business, you have to love it ... I'm always the first one in here and the last one to close up and leave for the night."
That dedication shows not only in his work ethic, but in the food Luigi and the Pizza Mista family serves to you.
And they deliver their delicious Pizza - ALL Day LONG!!!!
So stop by, say "hello to Luigi", he always has a genuine smile for you and the best Pizza in town.
